My love for flowers started when I was 8 years old. I went to a wedding and fell in love with the Bride’s bouquet, I was hooked. In my secondary school years, I’d visit a local florist staying there for hours just chatting about the different kinds of flowers. It was at this time that I fell in love with dried flowers. I’d buy a few bits and bobs to create displays for my teachers. I loved the outcome and so did they !

I continued into my teenage years creating floral designs now working with fresh flowers. Putting together table arrangements for a friend’s wedding. My love for weddings and all things floral was still a part of me.

In my 20s, I had my twins whilst still creating flower arrangements. By this point being asked through friends and friends of friends to create the flowers for their Weddings, Special Occasions and Funerals. I just loved seeing what new designs I could come up with.

In my early 30s, I was engaged, knowing that I wanted to create as much of the flowers for our wedding as I could, I embarked on a 2 year ICS Floristry Diploma. This course was great as I could work it around my full time job and my family.

In 2010, I’d finally received my certificate to confirm that I was a fully qualified florist. It was during the planning of my own wedding I realised that having fresh flowers for my 4 little flower girls wasn’t going to be an option. I really wanted orchids and being as expensive as they are, I knew that one drop of the bouquet would damage them and the heads would fall off ! So, I started to look at artificial flowers. I had visions of what I’d had when I was a 12 year old bridesmaid the flowers being foam and plastic looking, but I found the most amazing flowers, so my flower girls had gold wired pomanders with artificial orchids hanging down. Everyone at the wedding thought they were real !

In late 2010, having been made redundant, I started an ebay shop with some artificial wedding flowers designs.  I then launched “Budding Sensations” in January of 2011, working full time with my love for all things wedding and especially wedding flowers. I started exhibiting at local wedding fayres taking my flowers and designs to show other excited couples.

Based in my purpose built studio in Telscombe Cliffs, I absolutely love what I do. I love chatting with couples at wedding fayres, meeting for consultations, going through all their wedding flowers, then finally creating their flowers for the big day. I’m even lucky enough to see some couples get married and share their special day with them.

Looking forward to making your day that extra bit special.
